Down in Down Under - Diary - 30/07/02
---26/07/02--- | table of content | ---31/07/02---
the journey starts
Finally I am sitting in the train going to Frankfurt. When I left Berlin,
I've been on the verge of tears. But I think this was just because I won´t
see my homecountry for a while. Considering this, I think it is just normal.
On the other hand it is really exciting to think about the changes that
happen in this time.
Fortunately my brother took a break at work to give me a lift to the train
station. My backpack and my daypack have been a little bit more heavy than
I expected (the daypack nearly as heavy as the backpack). My first
idea to setup a pick-a-back-system would never have worked. Meanwhile I am
nearly in Kassel. I have finally finished Bruce Chatwin's Songlines
and don't have to carry it to Australia ;-) I already recognised some missing
things. Let's see what I can arrange concerning this in Frankfurt.
Meanwhile the sun is not shining anymore, kind of winter Sydney atmosphere.
I think that they have summer down here in the south of Germany as well, you
just don't recognise it when looking out of the air-conditioned train.
Now it really starts raining. It seems that there is no whole week summer
in Germany this year.
