Down in Down Under - Diary - 04/08/02

a half day
Today we thought, we should sleep a little bit longer. We slept till two in the
afternoon and had breakfast at half three - proof that we still have jetlag.
This way our planned sightseeing would be just another evening walk (it is winter
here and of course the sun is setting earlier) and again we would just have taken
pictures by Sydney at night. So we thought it would be better to go into the
aquarium tonight. Very interesting ;-), really, I can recommend it. You can see
several australian fish, but for example a monotreme like the Platypus, as well.
There is a nice aboriginal story I will tell another time ;-) The first English
scientists that somebody is joking and sewed a ducks bill onto a rabbit. Then there
is a little part of the Great Barrier Reef and a shark pool. You can go through it
in tunnels. I hope the pictures show this somehow, because you cannot really explain
this. The pictures are not directly attached to this text, because there are a few more,
and some of you then probably have to wait longer.
Who can afford the traffic or wait longer, here the
pictures (53 of them).
