new job @ work
Irish Matthew left last weekend and I took over his job today - stacking boxes. This job is much harder than
I thought but at least it is clean work. After work I donīt spend an hour in the shower trying to clean my
hands. On the whole the job is to fill up palettes with banana boxes. A few facts: 13 kg per box, 8 boxes
per layer (104 kg), 9 layers (72 boxes, 936 kg), at least 20 palettes per day (1440 boxes, ca. 19 t), 5
days per week (100 palettes, 7200 boxes, ca. 100 t) and all this only for Australia - no export.
There are a lot of banana farms in Far North Queensland - incredible!
After work I quickly went to the music shop and bought a blues harp. You go to Australia and buy a German
brand name - Hohner. Inspired by Chris, who started playing the mouth organ here as well, I decided
to learn to play this little nice instrument, too.
Like every Monday evening we went to the soup kitchen, this time with digicam.
