As I do not have a job for today unfortunately I went out to the ocean and did some
fishing and snorkeling spontaneously. Gary, a work mate, has a little boat and offered me
to go fishing with him. It is incredible beautiful. We did not went to the reef - the boat is
a little bit small for this job, but the small islands just off the coast are already wonderful
as well.
After we tried our luck with fishing until about nine, we went to one of the small islands.
Of course we catched a few fish. There we had a little breakfast and I went to snorkel a
little bit - thanx to Toby, who lent me his mask and snorkel. Even if it is not the reef
you can already find some nice colourful coral and fish here. Phil wrote me that diving out
on the reef is just unbelievable amazing. After this little trip I can imagine that. All these
colours and different species of coral and fish, basically you are swimming through a botanic
garden.
About 12 we were back on the mainland. After we dropped off the boat we went to the garage for
the roadworthy check. After waiting for quite a while I was told that all the necessary repairs
would cost about 450 bucks. Finally this is more than my budget, but as I bargained Gary down
another 100 bucks it is acceptable. And this way I will be proud owner of a van - or as Sharon
uses to say: "Oh my God, that's a Bus!!!" - tomorrow.
