Amy was "invited" to the dentist at 11:30 today. We spend the time until then for example with changing our
flights at STA. This unfortunately was impossible for me, as I have to go directly to the airline. But then it
should be no problem to change the date from early May to late July. At sometime in the early afternoon we
were on our way into the north. Amy finally just got antibiotics (infection at one of her teeth), that's why
we had to wait for so long;-) On the way up to Cape Tribulation we made a short stop at Mossman Gorge
- of course near Mossman - after a quite demanding coastal road up there. On the way back to the highway I
could look at and listen to the first lightning and thunder in Australia.
In the rain we made it to the ferry on daintree river. 16 bucks return for a little small cable ferry is
pretty expensive, but if you want to go up to the Cape you accept that. After the river crossing the driving
adventure should start again - up into the mountains. Moving a tare weight of one tonne and us three including
all the gear Dino sometimes showed his limits, but it's still fuckin' great. We made it to the national park
camping site Noah Beach just before dark. Again self-registering - and if you are clever for nothing.
After we were attacked really bad by mozzies just before going to bed it was a long and sleepless night, as it
was pretty hot.
