testing caravan parks and visiting cape tribulationOn the way up to the Cape we first stopped at Mason's Store today. Here you can book tours, do a little bit of shopping and jump into a little billabong just around the corner - which we literally did immediately. After this short but welcome cooling we went on. In Cape Tribulation Village we first went to the bat house. There you can see some bats and get some information about them (to my surprise not touri-like at all). E.g. bats are not using sonar at all, they just have an extremly good eyesight. Afterwards we decided to spent the next night officially in a caravan park. Of course we went to the cheapest place first which was just deserted. After a small snack and a test of the nice warm pool ;-) Andre said that everybody else is staying at PK's Jungle Village. So we decided to go to the other side of the road, paid for two persons at PK's, went back to the other park, to fill our esky again and set up our camp at PK's Jungle Village. Then we finally went up to the Cape itself. As already heard from many people it is a little bit overrated. It is pretty nice but not soooo outstanding. Additionally due to the stinger season you cannot use all the nice beaches at all at the moment.In the evening we played Skat (Andre has done a good effort to teach Amy Skat-a German game with cards). It was quite funny, I just would like to teach a fourth person Doppelkopf (another German game with cards). Later we went to PK's Bar or Pub or whatever you want to call it. |
