gravelroad & boardwalks in the rainforest
Yesterday at Mason's Store we were recommended another billabong - just 8 K's further north from Cape
Trib and accessable by gravel road. This should not be so difficult as there is still no rain. So we
went there this morning. Finally the gravel road was more demanding then expected - but, just another good
test for Dino. Unfortunately the billabong itself was not really worth seeing at all. This probably as well
because of the missing water.
Then we went to see several of the rainforest boardwalks. Number one was the Dubuji boardwalk - again
nice rainforest and nice pictures and many signs that explained things which were missing as well (no rain).
Then we went to Thornton Beach. Unfortunately I cannot say anything about this one, as I had a little nap
when we stopped there. According to the others it was nothing outstanding. Finally we went to the Marrdja
boardwalk - mangroves in all shapes explained in a good way.
In the evening we went back to Noah Beach and were not stung by mozzies this time. This night I realised that you actually
can hear that you are right in the middle of nature. Amazing what a sound background there is.
