body surfing to hervey bayIn the morning we made use of the nice surf at the beach and did a little bit of surfing before leaving for Hervey Bay. As we are no proper surfers and of course do not have the gear we did a little bit body surfing - and this was working out quite well here. If you catch the wave at the right moment it carries you nearly onto the beach with an incredible speed.In Hervey Bay the meeting of our SelfGuided-4WD-Safari was supposed to take place this afternoon. Finally we were eleven people desperate to spend the next three days out in the wilderness of Fraser Island. On the meeting we were informed about so many dangerous things like dingos and snakes over there that we nearly did not want to go anymore;-) After tea we went shopping with the group. This was quite difficult as nobody really knew how much we will need for three days and eleven people. Finally we thought we had to much (in the end it was exactly enough). |
