As the time was running short a little bit today (we had to be at the ferry at two and you do not
want to risk anything when driving on these treks here) we decided to check out just one of the
many lakes in the centre of the island and enjoy it instead of driving around nearly all the time.
So we went to Lake Birabeen. On the
way there we of course got stuck several times, but with getting out of the car and pushing and a little
bit more power we always got away. Arriving at the lake we thought we were in paradise. We were not
sure anymore if Whithaven Beach is more white than this. The others relaxed in the water, but I had to
cross this little lake of course. At twelve we went back to the car, took a nice picture and then
went on our way back to the ferry. This time we were faster than expected, but better to early than
to late. The crossing took a little bit more time and after filling up petrol and air we were already
late a little bit and thought we probably might have to pay a late fee. We were back at the shed short past
four, took everything out of the car and everything was alright. Nothing broken, not to late, just
two bucks for two pegs and a fork we had lost somewhere in the sand. In the evening we had a nice
slideshow at Kookaburras before the first people of our nice group left - alltogether a nice tour.
