After being settled here in Byron we have nothing to worry about at the moment and had a relaxed day
at the beach. In the evening we of course went to the big new years eve party byron bay. In Byron
you usually are not allowed to consume alcohol on the streets and the police is taking care of this
quite good. Originally we thought we have to face it and pay admission somewhere to get drinks in
a pub. We wanted to try to get away without this nevertheless and filled up waterbottles with
white wine - this does not attract attention at all;-) And indeed nobody was paying attention to this
and we could enjoy the party on the street. Later we even met up with the other people we arranged to
meet in Byron: Jennie and her sisters and additionally Lena, Phil and Björn - all former inhabitants of
Codge Lodge. Short before midnight all of us went to the beach and watched the big fireworks (not really
huge, but quite alright for Byron). This was New Years at the beach. In contrast to Christmas a
really nice experience. Just after midnight several people went into the surf of Byron.
Then after everybody calmed down again a little bit and the city was falling asleep we went back to the
stage at the beach. There a nice Jamiroquai-style-band played later - partyyyy.
