bbq and cricket @ coogee
Like every Sunday we went to Coogee today for a nice bbq and some sporty entertainment. You really can get
used to this nice and peaceful atmosphere. Today we tried to play cricket again after having a much to big
bite to eat at the bbq. This for non-commonwealth members really weird sport is getting quite interesting on
closer inspection. After I have seen several games meanwhile - this is happening inevitably here - I tried
to get to know how this game works. After this was explained to me by Andreas a few days ago, I can see
this pseudo sport in a different light. The games usually last between three and five days and apart
from the bowlers - who throw the ball and try to hit the top end of the three sticks - and the bates men -
who try to hit the ball and do as many runs as possible as long as the ball is on its way - everybody else
is just standing there and waiting to catch a ball - therefore the term "pseudo sport". So today we decided to
give it a go as well and had lots of fun.
