This first town on our way today was Padarbudoo, one of the so called company towns. As there are some
really big iron ore deposites around here this town was build without further ado. Surprisingly,
despite the location, petrol is pretty cheap. Afterwards we went on to Tom Price, another company town
on the way to Karijini. There we got some information about the park from the tourist information,
bought the last groceries for the next few days and a rope for our adventure for tomorrow. Then we
went to the nationalpark. Luckily the dirt roads there were just straightened last week and so the task
for Dino to go on unsealed road for 180km was not to bad.
First of all we visited Joffre Falls and Joffre Gorge, a first insight into this spectacular scenery.
Afterwards we went on to the lookouts of Knox and Weano Gorge. The latter is part of our
expedition for tomorrow.
After dinner we had a nice evening playing "ring of fire" - again after a long time.
